Today's blog post sheds light on scammers and fraudsters within the App Development Community, with a specific focus on the Google Play Store Console. It is crucial to read this message or post attentively to gain a comprehensive understanding and safeguard yourself against potential scams. Your vigilance is key to avoiding falling victim to fraudulent activities.
Let's begin:
Some individuals on the internet pretend to be sellers of Play Store Console Accounts, which is illegal according to Google's policies. If you wish to publish your apps on the Play Store, it's advisable to create your own account by paying a legitimate fee of just $25. Avoid falling victim to scammers and fraudsters who may claim to sell Play Store Console accounts. There is a risk that you may not receive the account from them, and they could potentially block you after taking your money.
What makes these scammers available on the internet? The answer is that, these days, creating a Play Store Console account is a little stressful because there are a lot of details you need to provide before your account gets created. This makes most people opt to buy old Play Store Console accounts from others to publish their apps on them. The main reasons for purchasing Play Store Consoles from others are as follows:
1. The user does not have the legal documents that Google requires before an account can be created.
2. The user has a Play Store Console account, but it is terminated or banned. With this, the user is not allowed to create a Play Store Console account again for life. If they try to create one, Google will terminate it again as soon as they find that the user had an account before that was terminated. Google won't refund the user because, in their termination note or message, they say, 'Do not attempt to register a new developer account. Any new accounts will be closed, and your developer registration fee will not be refunded.' In this case, you need to buy it from someone before you can use the Play Store Console service again to safely upload apps to the Play Store.
So, scammers and fraudsters take advantage of this situation and use it as a strategy to scam people. What they do is engage in a conversation with you, showing you all the evidence that they own a Play Store console account. After that, they will tell you to make a half payment to receive the details of the Play Store console account. Once you send the half payment, they may claim that the money didn't come through or the transaction didn't go through, even though it was successful. At that time, they are lying to you. Some also block you after receiving the half payment without even saying thank you. The fraudsters always ask for a higher payment (such as 50 dollars, 100 dollars, 60 dollars, 80 dollars), which is more than the legal Play Store console account fee of 25 dollars. After you send the money, you won't receive the account or get your money back; instead, they block you.
One Pakistani man, a scammer, once deceived my friend, and this keeps happening to others. Please, if you are reading this, kindly be aware and stay away from account sellers. The man asked my friend to pay a $50 account fee, and my friend sent him half, $25, as an agreement. The understanding was that when my friend sent half, the scammer would provide the account details, and then my friend would send the remaining amount. However, after we sent the money on Binance, the scammer told my friend that he hadn't seen the money, even though he had received it. My friend claimed and gave him all the proof of the money sent to him, but the scammer insisted, 'No, he hasn't received any money.' After some days, the scammer blocked my friend without providing the account or returning the money. So, be aware of such scammers on social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, etc.
Guidelines:
1. Avoid purchasing console accounts online to prevent falling victim to scams.
2. If you anticipate account termination for creating a new one, explore alternative stores like Galaxy Store, Palm Store, AppGallery, etc., for uploading your apps.
3. If you lack the required legal documents for a new Play Store console account, obtain them from the relevant authorities or consider alternative stores like Galaxy Store, Palm Store, AppGallery, etc.
Objective:
1. Contribute to creating a safer and improved environment for everyone on the Play Store.
